Add Flavor, Not Calories: Ginger/Orange

I really love a good stir fry, and one of my favorites is Orange Stir-Fried Chicken. I've only made it a few times because my husband isn't such a fan of oranges (long story, but I think he's starting to convert because he came home with orange juice the other night and said he wanted orange-banana-strawberry smoothies). However, he raved about this particular meal when we had it for dinner just a few weeks ago. What's really nice about it is that it's a healthier alternative to some stir-fry's that can be loaded down with sodium and calories.

To add flavor to your stir-fry, be it chicken, beef, pork or shrimp, try 1 tsp grated ginger root, or 1/2 tsp ground ginger plus the juice of an orange, and keep the soy sauce to a minimum, like 1 Tbsp or so. You'll be surprised at the difference in taste. And you'll be glad to know that there won't be any overkill on sodium and calories! :)
