Wok's For Dinner: Hot Pork Sandwich With Gravy

This is a great way to use leftover pork chops. Of course, you don't have to wait around for leftovers. You can always cook the chops up specifically for this meal. You can find the original recipe here.

Hot Pork Sandwich With Gravy

Ingredients:
1 packet brown gravy mix
sliced bread
leftover pork chops

Directions:
Reheat leftover pork chops in microwave for 2-3 minutes. Meanwhile, prepare gravy according to packet directions. Place a slice or two of bread onto a plate. Lay a pork chop on top of the bread. Spoon some of the gravy on top of the pork chop and bread.

If freezing: If you have leftover pork chops, you can freeze these. Or, you can make this a freezer meal by cooking up pork chops in advance and freezing. You can cook your chops either by baking in the oven or cooking them in a large skillet on the stove, whatever is more convenient. Your cooked pork chops will freeze best in a vacuum-sealed food saver; however, you can use a freezer bag. Just squeeze out as much of the air as you can before sealing the freezer bag closed; store in freezer for up to a month. This will help prevent freezer burn. Give your pork chops at least 24 hours in the refrigerator to thaw.

  1. I do this for so many cheap cuts of meat - make them into gravy sammys or over rice or over potatoes.
Get a cheap cut of meat-usually 1 lb for 4-and cook in various seasonings(but no salt/sodium kinds) and water in the CP-start in the morning take out about 4 and shred up then add gravy mix voila, dinner is ready at 5.....Julie
